ENY 3004 Course Syllabus

Course Description

ENY 3004 General Entomology (4 credit hours). Prerequisites: a course in general biology; a course in some aspect of invertebrate zoology is also strongly recommended. An introduction to insect classification, biology and morphology. This course provides the necessary background for advanced courses in Entomology and Structural Pest Control. Laboratory work consists of learning major anatomical structure of insects, and training in insect identification, collection, and curation.

Overview of the Course

Insects are by far the most diverse and (with the exception of bacteria) are the most numerous organisms on Earth. They have profound, though often unnoticed, effects on our own lives.
