Before proceeding to START KEY please take a moment to check you have a suitable Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed.

Java Virtual Machine Check

Introduction

The Lucid Player software requires the Sun Java Virtual Machine (JVM) version 1.4.2 or greater.

You should see a box above this text with a single line of text stating one of the following;

Java Version: 1.4.2_05 from Sun Microsystems Inc. or
Java Version: 1.1.4 from Microsoft Corp. or
Java Version: 1.1.5 from Netscape Communications Corp;

If you don't see this information or if the version number is less than 1.4.2, you can verify your JVM installation status by doing the following:

Windows:
Type "java –version" at a Command Prompt window. You can select a Command Prompt window by either going to "Run" and typing "cmd" or by selecting the "Command Prompt" menu option from Accessories.

Mac OSX, Linux, Unix and other platforms:
Type "java –version" at a terminal window.

Note to Macintosh Users - OSX comes pre-installed with the Java Virtual Machine. Ensure you have the latest version of the Java Virtual Machine by running the "software update utility".

Installing the Java Virtual Machine

If you receive an error message stating "Java is an unknown command" or the response to the command states a Java version number less than 1.4.2, such as version 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4.1, then you need to either:

1. Install the Java Virtual Machine appropriate for your operating system.To download (Click here to open it)
or
2. Download and install the latest Java Virtual Machine free from www.java.com

Otherwise if the Java version number is equal or greater than 1.4.2, proceed with the installation instructions below.

START KEY

After installing the above mentioned required software, Click on the "START KEY" and then click on "Yes" button of pop up. This will start the key.
